This is the new, remodeled Marine Mammal Center in the Marin Headlands, just up the hill from Fort Cronkhite. The renovation began in 2005 and the new facility opened its doors in 2009.
The Marine Mammal Center website has all of the details, from the photovoltaic panels and green construction, to the high-tech research and treatment facilities for the more than 500 mammals the Center takes in every year.
